A delectable cure against Iron Deficiency Anemia

Are you getting enough iron?

Various metabolic processes in the body are possible because of Iron. Not having enough iron in the body entails interruption in cell functions primarily because it is an essential mineral needed in “oxygen transport, DNA synthesis, and electron transport.”

Why is Iron so important to human health?

  • Its primary role is to carry oxygen in the red blood cells to the muscle. It is important for blood production.
  • It is needed to produce energy. Expect getting tired easily and being vulnerable to sickness if you don’t have enough iron in the body.
  • Iron is an important component of proteins, making respiration and energy metabolism possible. It also takes part in the “synthesis of collagen and various neurotransmitters”, having been considered an essential component of certain enzymes.
  • It helps improve immune function.

Men (average adult male) have about 1000 mg of stored iron in the body. Women, on the other hand, only have 300 mg of stored iron. Men’s stored iron may be enough for three years while the amount of iron in women is only enough to last for about six months. This is probably the reason why women are more prone to iron deficiency.

When iron intake does not recompense the amount of iron lost, iron deficiency is most likely to occur. And as this condition becomes more severe, this iron deficiency may lead to a serious illness called Iron Deficiency Anemia (IDA).

Causes of Iron Deficiency Anemia (Angeles-Agdeppa, 2002)

  • Increased need of iron by the body during pregnancy, lactation, growth
  • Inadequate or not enough intake of iron from foods
  • Increased blood loss due to parasitism, menstruation and child delivery
  • Poor absorption of iron

Who are at risk?

Pregnant women, lactating mothers, “men and postmenopausal women [who experience] gastrointestinal blood loss”, children and elderly are among those who are most at risk of this illness.

IDA may cause them to suffer preterm birthing or miscarriages for pregnant women. Lactating women may produce milk low in iron and children and adults become prone to sickness. Adults and teens that have IDA may experience severe fatigue that may affect their physical activities and memory function. IDA then begins to be a threat to overall physical well-being.

Fighting IDA with Ningxia Goji Mango Drink Mix

What’s the best way to enjoy the goodness of mango when you don’t have the ripe one? Savor the immense goodness of mango and goji extracts in one delightful drink. We offer you the great tasting Ningxia Goji Mango Drink Mix, complete with the benefits of mango combined with the astonishing health promoting elements of Goji extracts.

Take advantage of the health benefits found in mango. You think it’s just another fruit made to satisfy as a dessert after a delightful meal? Think again. Mango can be one of your best defenses against IDA.

Eating mango may help increase iron absorption. Aside from its high iron content, mango is capable of increasing your iron absorption from vegetables, thereby reducing the risk of anemia among vegetarians.

Mango’s iron content is also beneficial for pregnant women because they have an increased demand of blood production needed for the development of the fetus. In the same way, blood loss due to menstruation among women depletes the stored iron in the body. With regular intake, mango may help increase the amount of iron in the body.

Goji also has long been considered an alternative remedy for anemia. With goji’s ability to enhance absorption of minerals, goji  may also aid in improving iron absorption from other iron-rich foods.

We may have a hard time finding the right medicine, but a natural alternative like Ningxia Goji Mango Drink Mix is blissful serendipity. It guarantees better health, all because of nature’s goodness.
